The Immigrant Welcoming Center (IWC)

The Immigrant Welcoming Center (IWC) department at LAC stands as a cornerstone within our organization, often referred to as the heart of our mission.

Annually, we serve hundreds of families, addressing diverse needs such as food assistance, assistance with CMS registration forms, vaccinations, notary services, and enrollment in English as a Second Language (ESL) programs. Acting as a vital bridge, we connect our Latino community with county representatives.

As we step into 2024, our unwavering goal is to continue delivering top-notch services characterized by kindness, resources, understanding, and a steadfast commitment to each member. Our dedication lies in not only serving our members but also facilitating their connection to the best offerings of our city/county. Furthermore, we aim to help them integrate into the Mecklenburg County community and contribute when the opportunity arises.

To realize our objectives, we seek the support of our partners, representatives, and even our members. We are all integral contributors to these collective efforts ensuring that our families not only survive but thrive, transcending nationality or zip code.
